MARK J. LYONS, Founder and President
Mark possesses extensive knowledge and experience in complex environmental and temperature control systems. As Founder and President of The Fulcrum Group and with over 25 years of experience with complex clients, Mark is responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring Fulcrum's Building Commissioning, Energy Management Programs, and Utility Master Plan services for major institutions. Mark also maintains primary client contact to provide senior level communications and an alignment of expectations and service delivery.
Mark has been personally responsible for building continuing professional relationships with clients such as the Durst Organization, developers of the $2.1 Billion One Bryant Park tower in Mid-Town Manhattan and the Sea Island Company, owners of the Sea Island Resort, a 5-Star resort and residential community in Georgia. Mark's demonstrated successes with these and other clients, results in continued requests to expand their relationships and assist these prestigious clients with their high-profile projects.
While Corporate Director of Technical Services for the Facilities Resource Management Co., the entity preceding Fulcrum, Mark led technical diagnostic engagements at the United Nations, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and served as an on-site manager at the Skirball Institute for Biomolecular Medicine and The Rockefeller University.
Mark has served as the Associate Director for Utilities and Mechanical Services, Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, managing utilities and mechanical systems for the 4.3 million square foot campus comprised of 230 buildings. He was also the Associate Director for Utility and Mechanical Services at Carnegie Mellon University, There he developed and implemented a comprehensive energy management program. He has served as Assistant Director for Mechanical Services for the Sarasota County School District, playing a key role in the strategic definition and implementation of a $1 million federal energy grant.
Early in his career, Mark was responsible for mechanical project management, development and implementation of highly successful energy management programs, and training of in-house personnel at Barnard College, Drew University, and Brown University.
Mark leverages this significant experience to ensure the highest level of service to Fulcrum's clients and is best recognized for maintaining his 'hands-on' approach to creating innovative technical solutions that have repeatedly sparked positive outcomes.
